Hidden Gems: Find Me Guilty

Find Me Guilty (Sidney Lumet, 2006)

With Vin Diesel.

Sidney Lumet has always been one of my favorite directors and this resurgence we have seen from him in the twilight of his career has been really impressive after spending a decade or so in obscurity and mediocrity.  This film, along with 2008’s Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, forms a nice little end cap to a prolific career.  Vin Diesel stars as a gangster who is defending himself in the longest mafia trial in U.S. history.  He’s trying to prove to the jury that he isn’t a gangster, just a “gagster.”  This is a real acting performance from Diesel, something we haven’t seen since Boiler Room.  I wish he would take more risks like this.  Equal parts courtroom comedy and prison drama, Find Me Guilty highlights Lumet’s knack for the courtroom and Diesel’s surprisingly strong comedic timing and delivery.

Rating: 8/10

RIYL: My Cousin Vinny, Goodfellas, Catch Me if You Can.

I really enjoyed this movie.. It was so hysterical..some of those one liners killed me…

If you’ve done office parties or corporate work, make sure to
mention that as well. No matter what your field, it helps to know what
you’re good at, but it also helps to recognize what
others are good at. He hosted Comedy Central’s’The Man Show’ as well as the ubiquitous
pseudo-porn for the sexually crippled, ‘Girls Gone Wild’, both solely and shamelessly for financial gain.
