Cool Stuff: Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps Trailer

Gordon Gekko is back!  The first trailer for the sequel to 1987’s Wall Street has been made available online, and it looks a lot better than I originally anticipated.  The sequel seems a bit unnecessary and the name itself is pretty cheesy, but the cast alone is enough to get me excited for this one.  Money Never Sleeps boasts new names like Labeouf, Brolin, Mulligan, Langella, and Sarandon in addition to returning stars Charlie Sheen and Michael Douglas (in his Oscar-winning role).  Director Oliver Stone is also on board, and I don’t see him completely screwing this up.  The trailer also features the music of Shiny Toy Guns, a favorite guilty pleasure of mine.  Here it is:

I still don’t understand the incessant Shia Labeouf force-feeding we are receiving, as any role he is given would be much better served in the hands of someone like Emile Hirsch.  This is no exception.  Labeouf is not a box-office draw.  Transformers and Indy 4 would have been huge with or without him.  No one watches Transformers to see Shia, they just want to see giant robots beating the shit out of each other.  If more people understood this, we would see these types of roles given to people who actually deserved them and could bring some sort of individuality and appeal to the characters. [End of rant]

Let me know what you think of the trailer.

looks good.. I completely disagree about Shia.. I understand that you don’t like him..but a lot of people do. and a lot of people do go to see movies just because he is in them. I think he is going to be great in this.
